Technical Polymer Properties.Natvar tubing is available in 15 standard formulations,
ranging in durometer from 55 to 98, to meet all customer requirements
for optimum dimensional and physical properties. All compounds are non-toxic,
non-hemolytic and non-pyrogenic. Natvar has established a rigorous program
to assure that our extrusion process is pyrogen-free, and recent tests
confirm less than 2.4 Eu/ device of bacterial endotoxin. The technical information supplied consists of typical product
data and should not be used for specification purposes. Unless otherwise
noted, all test are performed at room temperature. Natvar's line of TPE
(thermoplastic elastomer) medical tubing is made from Santoprene®
thermoplastic rubber, produced by Advanced Elastomer System, L.P. (AES
LP). This tubing provides the performance requirement of natural or silicone
rubbers, while it also offers tighter tolerances and better flex life,
without the toxicity concerns associated with natural rubber latex. Stringent
testing assures compliance with USP Class VI requirements and Tripartite
Biocompatibility Guidance. Lot testing is performed for heavy metal content
and MEM elution cytotoxicity. Test reports are available on request.
